Happy Friday! Just wanted to type up a quick post on what we have been up to!

We got several bantam chicks! Not sure what kind of breed they are but they are known as bantams and will be smaller than the average chicken. We have one black bantam chicken that came with our black sexed link chickens last year. She is way smaller! Someone mentioned on our video that she looks like an old English. I had to look that up and they are right. So maybe that is what she is. 🤔 The new chicks we have are a yellow/brown color with dark brown, so hoping to get some pretty colors!

In the circle is our bantam we have now! To the left is a black sexed link chicken.

Below is our new chicks this year! We tried to get pictures of them in muffin cup tutus, but it didn’t work out too good. Then one of the roosters wanted a muffin cup tutu but he was too big 😂.

I got a cool pop-out and reusable seed starting tray from Tractor Supply. It’s made by Burpee. It looks pretty cool and seems to be durable! I got it for $13. I went head and planted seeds in it. I’ll be posting a video of that shortly on youtube so stay tuned, but below are some pictures of it!

We have been working on our green house. We threw the original cover away because it became too torn from being blown in the wind. We took measurements, ordered clear plastic. Somewhere along the line the plastic was not big enough so it’s not enclosed all the way. Definitely a work in progress! I have the seeds in the house for the time being. I really want to plant herbs but will wait until the green house is enclosed before putting any plants in there.

We’ve also been working on an ‘infirmary’ for the chickens. These are just a couple of small pens that we are building so we can keep animals quarantined.

That’s all for now! Please subscribe to our youtube channel and blog if you haven’t already! Thank you! Have a good weekend.
