It’s that time of year again: fridge full of Thanksgiving leftovers! This is actually one of my favorite times because I usually get a few days with minimal cooking or preparing! I have decided to share with you what my suggestions are and what I do with our Thanksgiving leftovers!

  1. Make the meal last at least a day or two. We always eat turkey meat the next night along with some of the sides. I usually reheat just a few items at a time. If need be, I will make a simple side to go with it. A simple side might be stuffing. My goal is that I spent so much money on food for that day, I want the food to last at least a few days which helps in saving money!
  2. Make Turkey broth from the turkey bones. You can follow my simple chicken broth recipe. You may need to divide the turkey bones, do half at a time unless you have a huge stock pot that will fit all the bones! Either you can use the broth right away, store in the fridge, or put into a freeze bag and freeze for later.
  3. With left over Turkey meat that are large slices we usually do turkey sandwhiches.
  4. If there are smaller parts of turkey meat left I just make turkey salad.
    • Turkey Salad: mayonnaise, sweet relish, celery, dried cranberries, salt and pepper. You can really make it however you want. Spread on crackers or bread for a sandwhich!
  5. If we are really tired of the leftovers then we feed it to the chickens!

We never eat turkey for breakfast! If you do, what do you eat it with!? Let us know in the comments 😉. Turkey and eggs seems a bit weird but not if it’s deviled eggs.
