Did you know you can take a tomato stem and grow roots from it, making a totally new plant!? 😱 It is so easy! I had accidentally broken off a stem on a tomato plant. I put the stem into a glass of water, two days later the stem had perked up.

About 5 days later, the stem grew roots. I changed the water about every 3 days.

I waited close to 10 days after the first roots appeared to plant the tomato plant. You can see below that the roots have grown a lot during that time!

The new tomato plant can be planted. I had planted this one into a biodegradable pot. Then I put it into a 5 gallon bucket when it grew a little bit bigger! You can read more about planting in buckets here!
