Our kids started school this week. Our school is doing an alternative schedule. This means they will go to school one week and then the next week do virtual learning at home. Next week the kids will have a paper packet to work on until all their information is set up on school laptops for them to take home.

When I take my kids to school, the kids have to put on their mask and have their temperature taken before they can exit the car. So far so good!

I have to write up on how the virtual learning goes. It seemed a little crazy in March to May with the virtual learning. I had one kid, Abe, in 5th grade and the other, Zeke, was in 3rd grade. The 5th grade classes had online assignments a lot sooner than the 3rd grade classes did. Abe seemed to not have any problems with most of his classes, was able to work on assignments and get those turned in. Zeke’s assignments for his classes were a little different and weird to navigate. For example, we had to make a copy of the assignment, then open, fill out, close, and then turn in. That probably doesn’t make any sense! It didn’t make any sense to me at the time either. 🤣 When I took online classes for college, the teachers would have a link for their class, you would click that, a list of assignments came up. Click on the assignment, fill it out, then click complete/finish at the bottom. I’ll keep yall posted with the virtual learning! Fingers crossed it goes smoothly.

This week Jacob worked late one night so I fed all the animals by myself. For some reason that night the lights were out in our yard. We have lights by the coops and goat pens. I had a light, shining it in the dark. I started to pass the boy goats’ pen and saw a huge brown spider on a web. Obviously, it made the web connect from the apple tree to the goat pen 😬. Yes, yikes! I ducked, thinking I will go around the other way to avoid the spider. Can you guess what happened!? I completely forgot, walked back right into the web. I threw the light, the goat food on the ground and ran away! Ugh. Gross. Jacob rolled up when I had ran up to the house to check myself for the spider. 😨 Thankfully, no spider.

I forgot to mention on last weeks ‘Friday on the Backyard Farm’ that I had put up the animals again by myself since Jacob was working late. I dropped my phone into the goats’ water! 😭 The phone was submerged in the water for at least 20 seconds. It felt a lot longer than that! Thankfully, the phone still works! I do have problems getting it off silence though. I think that might be messed up, but everything else works.

I set my phone on the kitchen island on top of a napkin. I tried not to mess with it, but when I moved the phone, it turned on. I cut it off. I left it alone for about 24 hours. Then I turned it on, there was a water streak on the front of the phone. I guess you could all it that but it disappeared later.

Vegetable plants are growing in the green house! We had marked pea plant on some of the pots and I think we have a zucchinni plant instead 🤔. The plant to the far right by the back of the greenhouse on the picture below looks like a zucchinni plant not a pea plant.

Tomato plants. Egg plants. Pepper plants.

Looks like something has been eating my egg plants’ leaves. I can’t figure if it’s bugs or the chickens. I looked over the plant but can’t find any bugs on there, so I’m not sure.

Chickens have been laying eggs in the green house again! I was wondering when they were going to start laying in there again. Before the eggs were on the other end of the green house.

Thanks for reading! Have a great weekend! 😊
