Great news, the chicken that had hurt her leg last week has made almost a full recovery! I kept her in our ‘deck’ coop for several days. She finally left the deck on her own and is now staying back in the coop she was previously in.

Our green house has taken a beating! Not by the elements but by goats and chickens! 😱

I caught a chicken on top of the green house once. Nothing happened, it jumped down after a few minutes. Several days later while working in my office, I looked out the window to find a pile of chicken poo on top of the green house. What in the world!?

Chicken poo on top of the green house. 🤔

Then last week we caught two goats, Snow Nugget and Eggnog, ram the front of the green house a couple of times, lifting the covering and going in. Doesn’t look like they hurt any vegetable plants, they just wanted to munch on the grass that has grown in the inside.

There they go about to push into the green house!

Now the green house has small puncture holes in several spots. 🤦‍♀️ Boo. I was worried about the weather damaging it but I guess I should have been worried about the animals. 😣

We still have the vegetable plants in the small containers. I think we’re going to have to figure out a new spot on where to put the plants. The girl goats are in our vegetable garden area. The truck is still broken down, so with it not running we can’t clear the area where the girl goats are supposed to go. The previous owners of the house left a lot of large, heavy items: trailers, boats, and popup camper. More on this to come!

We have a couple of fruits growing on our property! One is pawpaw fruit. We noticed these fruit trees a couple of years ago. They are ALL over the place, located from the forest edge line and then scatter into the forest. We have a bunch of them! It’s a green fruit with a yellow colored inside. It’s a little sweet. The fruit reminds me of a mango and banana mixed together.

The next item we have are grapes! When they are ready to eat, they will be green with brown on them. I forget what they are called. However, in my opinion, they taste like the wine my dad liked to drink which is the Duplin Hatteras Red Wine.

The people that have lived here before us planted all these grapes! They have grown back every year. Over the winter Jacob cuts the vines back.

Every year, we pick tons of them! The kids don’t mind since they can eat and pick as they go. We also feed them to the chickens. 😊

We found a copperhead snake on our property. These snakes are poisonous. We went ahead and killed it. I do not want any humans or animals bit. There probably will be more to come. 😱

That’s pretty much all that has been going on at least with the livestock. The work at my job is still limited by COVID. Hopefully it will pick back up soon but until then we just have to wait!

I am working on the video with the congested chicken. It’s almost complete. I will post it on youtube but my blog as well.

Thanks for reading! Enjoy your day! ☺
