We just visited Kings Dominion’s Halloween Haunt recently for the first time!
We got there a little later than anticipated…after 7:30pm. Halloween Haunt at Kings Dominion starts later in the evening on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. On Saturdays and Sundays during the day they have the Great Pumpkin Fest which is for all family members. Hopefully we can catch that before the end of October and I’ll post on that when we do!
Halloween Haunt is Kings Dominion’s time to transform the park into a scary place with witches, zombies, etc. Within the park there are many scare attractions. These attractions are mostly either scare zones or the mazes (or what I like to refer to as the haunted houses). However, the whole park is decorated for Halloween which makes this a great place to visit to get into the Halloween spirit. There are witches that travel through the park but unfortunately we missed them on our visit, but we did catch sight of a warlord of some sort wandering around. There are 8 mazes and 5 scare zones. We only went to 4 mazes (Cornstalkers, Black Out, Trick or Treat, and Condemned) and to 4 scare zones (Necropolis, the Lair, the Cleaver Brothers Carnival, and the Yard). Our favorite mazes were Condemned and Trick or Treat, but they were all good in their own way. What I remember most from Kings Dominion was having to use a flash light to get around Condemned which is an old manor. I thought this was unique, adding more fun into wandering around the manor. We did a vlog while we were there. We didn’t video inside any of the mazes…it would have been too dark to see anything…plus you have to go for yourself and be surprised. I also want to add that we had an amazing funnel cake from Inferno Funnel Cake. Holy Moly it was delicious! I took a video of that funnel cake! The funnel cake was topped with icecream, whip cream, chocolate, and strawberries. We had gotten another yummy funnel cake a couple of times at another spot with whip cream and strawberries. So far Kings Dominion has had the best funnel cakes. Unfortunately, they don’t serve my fried twinkies.
Daily tickets are $35. Sometimes they will have discounts, you just have to check their website. Also, check groupon.com for discounted tickets. See if your job is connected with any organization that offers discounts. My job uses workingadvantage,…you might be able to try there even if your employer doesn’t participate.
